It achieves this by giving Azure Security Center customers the ability to deny persistent access when providing controlled access to VMs. “When JIT VM Access is enabled, Azure Security Center locks down inbound traffic to defined ports by creating Network Security Group rule(s),” writes Ben Kliger, Azure senior product manager. “You can request access to the VM when needed, which opens the needed port for an approved amount of time, from approved IP addresses, and only for users with proper permissions....

This is a major update because Microsoft has not updated the application for over a year. Indeed, the last release for the Remote Desktop update on iPhone and iPad arrived in June 2018. It’s in the tech giant’s best interest to stop that, but many users are reluctant. The latest statistics from NetMarketShare estimate that 36.90% of desktop/laptop users are on outdated OS. Part of that is the fear that their apps will break when they move. Microsoft’s Desktop App Assure program looks to combat those fears. The appeal for a class-action lawsuit reached the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit who upheld a previous denial by the District Court of Washington in 2018. This required patch was sent out by Microsoft to squash a bug between Internet Explorer and printers. It looks like this update is now causing all new problems for Windows users. Indeed, Microsoft was forced to reissue KB4524147. Users across Reddit, Microsoft’s own Answers forum, and several other websites have reported problems following the update. It is worth noting those who pull in KB4524147 now will have the reissued version without the issues....

According to information obtained by WalkingCat, Microsoft is make Outlook Spaces available across two domains. The first will be under the “Office” domain for enterprise and the second under the “Live” domain for consumers. Because Spaces is still being developed, it cannot be viewed at either domain. Microsoft has yet to say when the service will launch, but we expect to hear more about it at virtual Build 2020 later this month....

It is also much more likely after a recent wireless charging tool passed through the FCC and then later leaked online. Images in the leak show a new Surface Pen that will get a redesign and be slightly smaller. According to leaks, it will also look much more like a traditional pen. However, it’s what is happening on the inside that’s more important....

The company has updated the driver Realtek High Definition Audio (SST) enables Wake on Voice from Modern Standby. Well, three months later and Microsoft Teams is finally getting those tools… at least in preview. Available worldwide for Android and iOS users. As we noted in April, there is no specific consumer version of Teams. Instead, Microsoft has simply added special consumer tools behind a consumer account on Teams. For users currently running the existing app, a toggle is available to switch between personal and enterprise accounts. Perhaps the standout consumer tool in Microsoft Teams is chat, messaging, and video calling....

With Intelligent message translation, Microsoft Teams on mobile can provide translations for messages sent during a chat.
