To help spur users, Instagram has taken away its lowest minimum daily limit option. Under the new limit options, users will need to choose 30 minutes are more. The world of Meta, which includes Facebook and Instagram, has been in turmoil in recent weeks. Meta revealed for the first time ever that its social media platforms are losing daily users. Instagram is trying to re-engage those users who may be thinking of ditching the app. Daily limits were introduced to help users properly manage their time and avoid spending too much of it on social media. Essentially, it is possible to limit the number of minutes you can spend on the app each day.

New Low Limit

At the time, Facebook said the following about the limits: “It’s not just about the time people spend on Facebook and Instagram but how they spend that time. It’s our responsibility to talk openly about how time online impacts people — and we take that responsibility seriously. These new tools are an important first step, and we are committed to continuing our work to foster safe, kind and supportive communities for everyone.” That perception is clearly changing within the walls of Meta. The previous low daily limit was 15 minutes. However, Instagram is trying to keep users on the app, not encourage them to put it down, so that 15-minute limit has been removed. Now 30 minutes have become the default lowest limit, while other options of 45 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or no limit remain the same. The new low limit option is clearly an attempt to maximize usage and overall user interaction further, increasing ad revenue. In combination with commercial 3rd party-tools such as Instagram growth services, this might be a sign that the social network is about to reach a point of saturation in a few years as it happened to Facebook already. Tip of the day: To prevent attackers from capturing your password, Secure Sign-in asks the user to perform a physical action that activates the sign-in screen. In some cases, this is a dedicated “Windows Security” button, but the most common case in Windows is the Ctrl+Alt Del hotkey. In our tutorial, we show you how to activate this feature.
