Micron’s upcoming GDDR6Xmemory will clock at 24Gbps. The information comes from tech leaker @harukaze5719 on Twitter. It seems the claim is legitimate because Micron has a part number (MT61K512M32KPA-24:U) for the chip. That “24” on the end of the product number highlights the speed of the memory. The highlight seems to be the new 24Gpbs memory will run 14% faster than the current 21Gbps Micron produces. By the way, that’s the memory that is in Nvidia’s current flagship GPU, the RTX 3090 Ti. Nvidia is already working on an upcoming GPU that will deploy the new GDDR6X memory at 24Gbps, this will be the RTX 4000 series, also known as Ada Lovelace GPUs.

AMD Questions

It also seems AMD is getting in on the act with its upcoming RX 7000 series GPU. However, this is more open to debate because AMD is still behind the curve in terms of memory speed. For example, the company’s RX 6000 current flagship doesn’t even use the 21Gbps memory that is Micron’s current best. Instead, the RX 6000 runs the 16Gbps variant, while the updated RX 6×50 series has Samsung’s 18Gbps GDDR6. It is unclear whether AMD will catch up to Nvidia or continue to use lower-performing memory. Speaking of Samsung, the company has officially revealed development on its own 24Gbps GDDR6 memory. This will be another option for AMD. Tip of the day: The Windows Clipboard history feature provides the functionality across device, space, and time, letting you copy on one computer and paste the text days later on a different PC. All of it is possible via the Windows 10 clipboard manager, which lets you view, delete, pin, and clear clipboard history at will. In our tutorial we show you how to enable the feature, clear clipboard history, and enable/disable clipboard sync to meet your preferences. You can also create a clear clipboard shortcut for quick removal of stored content.
