Microsoft is testing PayPal support for Skype on Windows 10 on the Insider Program. You’ll need to be running version 14.32.42.0, which is available to Insiders. It is unclear whether Microsoft will roll out this feature in a Skype update or will wait for the next Window 10 release. Considering Skype has its own Insider program, we expect to see PayPal support on Windows 10 to arrive soon. Like on Android and iOS, PayPal on Skype for Windows 10 is available in 22 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Users are able to manage payments and funds directly within Skype without leaving the app.

It is good to see this feature becoming universal across Skype versions. Apple’s iMessage and Slack are just two rival messaging services that have had PayPal integration for a long time. At the time of the initial launch, Microsoft explained how the support works: “Questions like “Can I reimburse you for those movie tickets?” or “What do I owe you for Mom’s gift?” no longer require switching from Skype to your browser or banking app to start a payment process,” the Skype team says. “Starting today, we’re rolling out the ability to send money with PayPal. Using your mobile phone while you’re chatting with friends or family, you can simply swipe right, tap Send Money, and complete the money transfer process.” To get PayPal to work on Skype for Windows 10, you will need to connect the payment service to Microsoft’s communication platform.
