If you’re unfamiliar with CyberX, it is a cybersecurity platform for IoT that works to cut risk. Furthermore, the service protects organizations from IoT-related outages, theft of IP, and operational problems. “We will continue to deliver more value to our customers as CyberX is further integrated with Microsoft’s broad portfolio of IoT security offerings in threat protection that span users, endpoints, applications, data and more.” – Microsoft. CyberX is a significant player in the IoT market. Amongst its customers are three of the largest utilities in the US, three of the top 10 global pharmaceuticals, and major government agencies.

Long-Time Partners

Microsoft and CyberX have had a long-standing collaboration. In 2016, the startup participated in Microsoft’s Security Program for Azure IoT as a partnering auditor. Earlier this year, CyberX was included as an API integration Azure Security Center. This allowed organizations to see security measures implemented across IoT devices. In other words, it makes plenty of sense that Microsoft has acquired CyberX. The platform will continue as a hybrid service for cloud-connected customers. “By joining forces with Microsoft, we will rapidly scale our business and technology to securely enable digital transformation for many more organizations,” said Nir Giller, co-founder, GM International, and CTO of CyberX. “Together, CyberX and Microsoft provide an unbeatable solution for gaining visibility and a holistic understanding of risk for all IoT and OT devices in your enterprise.” Last week, Microsoft revealed its acquisition of ADRM Software. Microsoft confirmed it will fold ADRM Software into its Microsoft Azure global engineering business. The data model company will now help towards Microsoft’s development of “the next generation of intelligent data lakes.”
