One of the stumbling blocks for developers has been the slow publishing process in the Microsoft Store. Whether its updating the price, a description, announcing new features, or adding screenshots, the publishing process in the store is slow. Today, Microsoft is addressing the situation. The company says publishing times for certain actions are now much faster. In a Windows Blog post, Microsoft says submissions that do not update packages (no software updates) will publish faster. In the blog, the company detailed what submissions will be faster: “You might want to update the description to call out key features or add new screenshots and video trailers to help your customers see what your product does best. At times, you may also want to update your app’s or game’s price, either on an indefinite basis or as a limited-time sale to entice new customers to make a purchase.” Microsoft says these actions would take at best a few hours in the past, but in many circumstances would take up to three business days. That’s clearly not ideal for developers, so the Microsoft Store now makes these changes in less than an hour. Of course, that’s an excellent improvement on Microsoft’s part and we guess developers will be happy.

Microsoft Store

We are still getting used to not calling the store the Windows Store. Last year, Microsoft introduced unified shop experience the company debuted last year. This includes the app store, which was formerly known as the Windows Store taking on the Microsoft Store name.
