It is now easier to share content in a meeting while using Microsoft Teams. Version 1.0.45 introduces the ability to share photos and videos within a meeting. These new media sharing capabilities are also coming to calls with this update. Also, Microsoft Teams on iOS now supports screen sharing when on a call or in a meeting. The sharing additions continue with the ability to share content from a phone through companion mode. Microsoft has detailed the full changelog, which also included enhancement and fixes:
Share photos while on a call or in a meeting Share a video while on a call or in a meeting Share your screen during a call or meeting Use companion mode to share additional content from your phone in a meeting Bug fixes and performance improvements
The new update is available right now from the App Store here.
Free Version
Last week we reported on the free version of Microsoft Teams being ready to launch. This move puts Microsoft Teams closer to Slack in terms of usability. Slack is free but allows users to unlock pro-level features by upgrading to premium. It seems Microsoft will pursue a similar paywall tactic with a free version of Teams and the full version through Office 365 subscription. We guess the free version will roll out to Windows 10 first. Users on iOS and Android may have to wait to get the collaborative suite for free.
