The confusion came from the fact Microsoft already has a shopping service called the Microsoft Store. The Windows Store was specifically for apps and software services, while the Microsoft Store was for hardware and physical products. Microsoft did not clarify the situation last week, but it seems the company is unifying both stores. This means the Microsoft Store will replace the Windows 10 Store and also sell hardware, as well as apps....

Office 365 Enterprise customers in 181 regions and 44 languages can now use Microsoft Stream. As well as the roll out, Microsoft is also adding some new intelligence features to the platform. The idea behind Stream is to provide a dedicated video platform for business users. While other platforms, like YouTube, have business content, enterprise is not the focus. Microsoft has access to millions of business customers through services like Azure and Office 365 and wants them to use the single destination video platform....

A recently discovered Microsoft patent suggests the company wants to bake in a fingerprint sensor on a future Surface Headphones release. In some ways, this is a logical step. Headphones are increasingly coming with interaction features such as swipe and touch gestures. Looking at the details, it looks like Microsoft wants to the fingerprint sensor to act as a way of controlling the headphones and connecting them. For example, users could read their prints to connect the Surface Headphones to a PC....

Concerningly, the vulnerability would give hackers visibility of end user accounts simply by seeing a message. In other words, no interaction by the user is needed to enact an exploit of the flaw. According to security researcher Oskars Vegeris, this is a wormable exploit in Microsoft Teams could target a vulnerability. It would access the client chat and view the messes resulting in a “complete loss of confidentiality and integrity for end-users — access to private chats, files, internal network, private keys and personal data outside MS Teams....

For example, users can build flows which monitor all activity on social media forums and alert their team about events that they didn’t expect or require action. In addition, users can alert their team of new activity with the Teams connector. The new feature will post a message to an existing Microsoft Teams channel. With users gradually switching to Teams and Flow in order to collaborate, a connector that brings these two services together should improve the experience....

The new update does not add any new features to the app. Instead, Microsoft has focused on making improvements and solving problems. There are not the usual unnamed bug fixes and improvements. For example, Microsoft says it has fixed an issue that was causing a crash when Microsoft To-Do was switching to another app. Elsewhere, VoiceOver improvements have been made, although Redmond does not say what they are. Previously available in the Microsoft Store, the Edge Insider extension allow members of the Insider Program to keep up to date with the development status of the browser. Users could see the latest features, announcements, and known issues from the browser. While the Edge Insider extension was removed in April, Microsoft is now preparing a new version. According to ALumia, the company will launch a version that is based on development from Chromium Edge....

According to The Verge, features for the service will depend largely on operating system, with iOS naturally being more restricted. For Android users, however, it’s a chance to view the entire phone interface on PC, reducing the need to check your phone for notifications or view apps. So far, details on iOS integration are sparse, but it seems users will be able to access texts, photos, and notifications. Thurrott says users will be able to drop documents straight to their PC without the need for cloud services, as well as other media....

Thanks to the latest update, the utility page of Arrow Launcher now supports multiple widget cards. Beta testers of the app are now able to add their favorite music, news, and weather cards in the utility page. In addition, Arrow Launcher v3.3 adds a new card and a new page. Users that are part of the app’s beta testing now have access to a Calendar card and a Calendar page....

“In the next version of Microsoft Edge (built on Chromium), we will continue to retire Flash in the same timeframe as other Chromium-based browsers,” said Colleen Williams, senior program manager, Microsoft Edge. “Flash will initially be disabled, and the user will need to re-enable Flash on a site-by-site basis; Flash will be completely removed from the browser towards the end of 2020.” Security conscious users will be pleased with this decision....

RARE Studio is a Microsoft-owned developer that created the popular Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves. The Coalition Studio is another Microsoft Studios subsidiary that is known for creating the Gears of War series. Together with Microsoft Research and the Azure teams, the studios are helping to form Project Triton. It seems Microsoft has a couple of big message-related features in the pipeline that will further functionality on Your Phone. According to Windows Latest, both new tools are currently in early development. They will come to Windows Insiders this year. Microsoft is working on integrating calls into the messages UI and Picture-in-Picture support for the app. Looking at Picture-in-Picture first, this feature allows users to create a conversation in a separate window....

Called the Ninja Battles Featuring Fortnite, the events will be held each week starting on May 28. Tournaments happen from Monday to Thursday each week and will be held until the end of July. Last August, Microsoft announced its Mixer game streaming division had tied up Ninja in an exclusive stream contract. Several other high-profile game streamers followed and Mixer’s stock has since risen. As the name suggests, Ninja will be the host of the tournaments, with all events taking place on his channel....

In essence, the live show plans to take all the best bits of previous events and condense them into one ninety minutes interactive experience. “The Minecraft community is still growing”, explains Mojang’s Owen Jones, “and there’s only a certain number of players we can host while keeping the friendly, intimate community atmosphere that’s made previous MINECONs so special.” MINECON Earth will act a bridge of sorts, giving players the fix they need but forgoing some of the more social and communal aspects....

To overcome Microsoft’s various paths to change the default, Mozilla has quietly made some changes. The company is making it easier for users to switch permanently to Firefox. The changes will work on Windows 11, as well as Windows 10. With the release of version 91 of Firefox, Mozilla included a method for setting the browser as default in Windows. In fact, this was a clever bit of reverse engineering, taking Microsoft’s one-click default choice for Edge and applying it to Firefox....

It follows documentation published by Microsoft a couple of weeks ago on WCOS support for its Intune apps, which includes Web and Appx formats. At present, the company doesn’t appear to be trying too hard to keep Core OS details under the hood, with the Surface Neo’s Windows 10X based on WCOS. However, it still hasn’t talked about the modular platform officially, so this kind of thing is all we have to go on....

Specifically, we had become used to mid-generation upgrades of existing consoles. These would usually be devices that refined the design of the original. The mid-gen’s would be smaller and a little bit more powerful. Think of how the Xbox 360 evolved through its lifetime and you get the gist. There were never seismic mid-gen bumps until this generation. The Xbox One X and to a lesser extent the PS4 Pro are major leaps forward compared to their original cousins....

And that leads to the latest Office 365 feature, a tool driven by AI that allows Microsoft Word documents to be converted into PowerPoint presentations. The aptly named Export to PowerPoint presentation tool is now available for Word for the web. Microsoft has not said when the feature will expand to Office 365 platform variants, if at all. So, for now you will only be able to convert to PowerPoint in Word online....

The most noticeable change is completely updated visuals. Xbox avatars will no longer use the same model as Xbox 360 did back in the day. The footage Microsoft has shown so far is very impressive, but there will also be more customization options. The avatars will have a bigger accessibility focus, with the option for prosthetic arms, wheelchairs, pregnancies, and more. They’ll also have new hairstyles, greatly improved animations, and more accessory options....
