Neither of the companies has publicly confirmed this move, but ZDNet reports Microsoft and IBM has already initiated the programs. It is worth noting the companies are not working together but are simply embarking on the same endeavor....

In a joint announcement, Microsoft and Sony confirmed a new industry-wide interest group called the HDR Gaming Interest Group (HGIG). Joining other tech giants, the companies want to improve HDR Gaming for consumers. Joining Microsoft and Sony are leading companies from game and TV. For example, LG and Vizio are direct collaborators in the HGIG project. Additionally, giants like Panasonic, Philips, Ubisoft, Samsung, EA, and more have shown interest in joining....

In essence, the machines offer on demand burst performance and let users build up credits when the full CPU power isn’t utilized. It’s a similar tactic to AWS’s T2 instances and Google’s f1-micro, letting users spend those credits when more performance is required. The company yesterday launched new MSN News beta applications for both iOS and Android. With these new apps, users get several new features and improvements. For example, users can now create a more personalized experience. The apps will follow user interest more accurately to deliver the best new content individually. Interests will also be spread across devices, so MSN News will remember preferences across platforms. Readability improvements have been made, while Microsoft has also added a new dark theme to the app....

Together, the cloud giants developed OAM as an Open Web Foundation project. Developers will be able to access the specification for building native cloud apps on Kubernetes. According to Microsoft watcher WalkingCat, there is already a GitHub repo opened for the Open Application Model. Furthermore, there is also an implementation of OAM called Rudr which is in place to give developers the ability to manage and deploy apps on any Kubernetes cluster....

Microsoft’s Robin Seiler introduced the device and confirmed the device is available in silver and black. As we previously reported, the Surface Pro 7 runs Intel’s 10th-gen Ice Lake CPUs. Looking at the entry level variant, the Pro 7 starts with the usual Core i3 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. While no earth shaking announcements in terms of hardware are expected, the Xbox FanFest is making a welcome return. The FanFests are an annual event that Microsoft has been hosting for 4 years. FanFests are held all around the world and before last year’s E3 event, Microsoft said 13,000 fans had attended events in 2016. The company has now detailed what will happen for FanFest at E3 2018. Specifically, there will be two offers running at the FanFest E3 event for Xbox One fans....

It means users will be able to avoid unlocking their phone, providing fingerprint authentication, or entering a pin. The functionality is available on all Microsoft accounts and Azure AD, but support for other services may come soon. The feature was previously available in beta at v6.0 for Testflight users, but this marks its general release.
