WindowsLatest has found a patent filed in May 2019 that aims to add a modular case element to the Surface Laptop. Specifically, the case would be a lid for the device that could be attached and feature customizations. The patent is titled, “INTERCHANGEABLE HOUSING PANEL WITH RECHARGEABLE POWER, NETWORK CONNECTIVITY, AND MEMORY FOR USE WITH PORTABLE COMPUTING DEVICES” It is worth noting the laptop lid houses the screen, but not exactly....

The update adds a new sharing icon to the app. With this icon, users can share Private Playlists with contacts through social media. Intel has been sending out patches to protect Spectre all year. Microsoft has now taken one of the newer patches. The company already released Intel’s Spectre microcode for Skylake processors earlier this year. Now, Redmond has launched more microcode to protect against other Spectre variants on Windows 10. Even Microsoft is on board, giving some Office apps Split Screen support, and OneDrive Multiple Windows support. Earlier this year, we reported on Microsoft also wants Word and Excel to have mouse and trackpad support on iPadOS. At the time, we said the support would likely come this fall. Office 365 users will soon be able to use the new login experience for Outlook.com. “Users with an Office 365 account who use Outlook on the web can now sign in to their work or school accounts through www.outlook.com. When a user signs in through www.outlook.com, Outlook redirects them to their organization’s sign-in page, which is pre-populated with the email address they entered....

The sources say Facebook scans its platform for threats and adds users to its own ‘BOLO’ watch list. The list reportedly contains hundreds of people and the company notifies its physical security team with their name, photo, and location. Some see it as a necessary solution, but other former employees say there are no clear guidelines about who makes the list. Naturally, those who publically threaten the offices or employees make the list....

CoreView Research highlights the problem, which shows Microsoft 365 may be vulnerable because users are ignoring basic security tools.
