In fact, the company believe scrolling on Chrome is horrible and is caused by a bug. In a new proposal, developers say they will bring Edge’s “smooth Scrolling” that will solve Chromium’s “Janky” mouse scrolling. “Scrollbar scrolling using the mouse happens on the main thread in Chromium....

Microsoft is warning against Qakbot and Emotet, two malware families that do just that. Both focus on stealing online banking credentials from individuals and enterprises. The latest statistics suggest that 33% of Qakbot encounters are found on enterprise PCs, while 7% of victims are small and medium businesses. 29% are home users, so it’s a threat to pretty much everyone. Emotet seems to target individuals more frequently, at 61% home users, 10% enterprise, and 8% small and medium businesses....

The effort comes ahead of the launch of its next-gen console, the Xbox Series X. Any fixes in the near future will affect the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox One X, but improvements to the underlying infrastructure will help all releases going forward. Find a vulnerability that has “a direct and demonstratable impact” on customer security, and you could net $20,000. Admittedly, you could also receive $500, but it all depends on the severity of the bug....

According to a report from BleedingComputer, bad actors have used the GootKit banking Trojan that help malware evade Windows Defender. GootKit uses a UAC bypass and WMIC commands to help executable malware remain undetected by Microsoft’s antivirus tool. If you are unfamiliar with GootKit, it is a Trojan that infiltrates a system and tries to lift online banking details. This is achieved through video capture and by redirecting unwitting users to fake banking websites....

Microsoft has been consistently expanding the capabilities of Your Phone since it launched in 2018. Directions on Microsoft began to outline a ‘modern refresh’ of remote desktop services in a February report, with plans for general release in late 2018. Over the weekend, Microsoft confirmed two new vulnerabilities in Exchange Server. The company is tracking the flaws as CVE-2022-41040 and CVE-2022-41082, respectively. Microsoft describes the first as a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) bug, while the second could allow threat actors to conduct a remote code execution (RCE) attack through PowerShell. In its guidance for the flaws, Microsoft says it has seen targeted attacks on 10 organisations. The threat actors were able to exploit the vulnerabilities and Microsoft believes the attacks come from one state-sponsored group....

“Schneider Electric has determined that some USB removable media shipped with the Conext Combox and Conext Battery Monitor products were contaminated with malware during manufacturing by one of our suppliers,” said the company. “The malware should be detected and blocked by all major anti-malware programs.” Despite the simplicity of the malware, Scheider Electric is advising users not to load up the drives. In fact, it tells them to ‘securely discard’ them and download the information from its site instead....
