Razer promised to debut a solution at CES 2019, and it’s made good on that pledge. The Razer Turret is a keyboard and mouse combo designed to enable high-precision gaming from the couch. It will be available for pre-order soon. The Turret has a slide-out mouse pad and connects to the Xbox One with a single USB dongle. Its keyboard has 50g mechanical keys and color customizable RGB lighting, as seems to be standard. It also has a dedicated Xbox key for quick dashboard access. Interestingly, the mat holds magnets to keep the mouse in place when you move the tray or stop you from dropping it as easily. The outsides of the pads are stronger, letting users turn the keyboard almost vertical without the mouse falling off.

Specs and Pricing

Naturally, the keyboard’s wireless nature means it needs to charge. The keyboard lasts 11 hours with full RGB, or 43 without. The mouse lasts 30 or 50, which is a little inconvenient. However, there are a few charging options available, including charging the mouse via the keyboard with mini-display port to micro-USB. The keyboard itself charges via USB-C, which is always a plus. Razer is yet to reveal how long either take to charge, but it’s probably not too long. The mouse is fairly standard, sporting up to 16,000 DPI, 450 IPS, and 50 G acceleration. The real life-changer for gamers will be its four additional buttons, which can be reprogrammed. This should help with tasks like quickly building in Fortnite. All of this will cost you, though, the Turret setting you back $250. To be fair, you get a mechanical keyboard, mouse, and mousemat for that price, but it’s still a little on the steep side. The 15 titles currently available on Xbox One don’t really justify the cost, but it may be a good investment for the future.
