While Windows 11 has been available for around 6 months, enterprise customers need time to roll out a mass update across an organization. A report from Riverbed highlights the state of the upgrade process so far. Of course, it is still early in the update cycle, with plenty of companies holding off on the Windows 11 update still. Networking solutions firm Riverbed finds those organizations waiting may be making the best decision because its report shows more than a third of enterprise devices are still not ready for the platform. Breaking down the numbers, 23% of those orgs meet Microsoft’s system requirement but have chosen not to, while 12% are not system compatible. System requirements were a hot topic leading up to the release of Windows 11. Microsoft demands TPM 2.0 security and certain processor hardware.

Requirements

Microsoft’s full hardware requirements for Windows 11 are:

A modern 64-bit processor. Windows 11 is only a 64-bit platform, with no 32-bit version. 1Ghz clock speed 2 cores 64GB drive 4GB RAM UEFI, Secure Book capable & TPM 2.0 9-inch display with 1366×768 resolution DirectX 12 compatible graphics / WDDM 2.x

TPM 2.0 seems to be the problem for those enterprise machines that are obsolete. This was expected to happen because many enterprise PCs are older. Riverbed also finds that around 20% of all machines will need extra storage to accommodate the 64GB Windows 11 needs to upgrade/migrate. Tip of the day: Windows lets you use Cortana to translate sentences, words, or phrases, with the results read back to you automatically. This makes it particularly useful for group scenarios, but you can also type if you’re unsure about pronunciation. Cortana translation sports an impressive 40 languages and utilizes machine learning to provide natural results in many cases. Check our full guide to learn how to use Cortana for quick translations.
